Perform more complex repair duties under the supervision of a Master Technician or Shop Foreman.
Test parts and systems of vehicles to ensure they are working properly, examine all critical parts according to checklists, disassemble and reassemble parts, and use testing equipment to ensure that repairs and maintenance are effective.
Factory Certified/Line Technician |
Average Wage of $28 Per Hour
Inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair electric, gas, hybrid, and alternative fuel vehicles; may specialize in certain areas such as brakes, transmissions or air conditioning systems.
Work independently or on a Technician team with minimal supervision.
Master/A or B Level Technician |
Average Wage of $35 Per Hour
Consistently demonstrate expertise in repairing vehicles while working independently or leading Technician team.
Inspect repair equipment, oversee and sign off on repairs completed by other technicians as well as train new technicians.
Shop Foreman |
Average of $75,000 Base + Commission
In partnership with Service Manager, oversee and supervise technicians within shop.
Manage daily operations of the shop inclusive of training and overseeing subordinates, ensure the workflow of the shop is completed in a timely manner and all repair orders are assigned accurately.
